Bayliss are a 5th generation engineering company based on the Airfield Industrial Estate at Ashbourne. The company makes components for a variety of applications, ranging from fittings for the water and gas industry, sub contract precision work and vintage motorsport parts. They also manufacture the Autovent, which was invented in 1964 by Ken Bayliss to automatically regulate the temperature of domestic greenhouses.
Joint development of a new product for a water and gas customer required them to expand their machining capabilities.
A £8,050 Business Development Grant awarded by Derbyshire Dales District Council enabled the company to purchase a new machine which enabled them to secure the contract for the new product.
Ben Bayliss (General Manager) says:
Thanks to Derbyshire Dales District Council for all the help securing this grant. It has helped us secure jobs during uncertain times.
