Bakewell Town Hall

Bakewell Town & Community Trust are responsible for the day to day running of Bakewell Town Hall along with the maintenance and improvements to the interior of the building. They hire our three rooms out to a variety of local community and corporate organisations and also run a variety of events including film nights, theatre streaming and coffee mornings.

A £15k Community Resilience Grant enabled the purchase of new chairs for the Assembly Room Theatre. The previous chairs were old, heavy and uncomfortable. The new chairs are comfier and lighter, helping staff to avoid injury when setting them out. They offer a higher standard of comfort, particularly relevant for clients with limited mobility and attendees at the NHS falls clinic and chair-based exercise classes. They not only improve the overall experience for users, but also enhance the room and make it a more desirable venue for events which is a big part of the Community Trust's goal to increase revenue.

Marie Wildgoose (Centre Manager) says...

The purchase of new chairs for our Assembly Room is a vital part of our ongoing improvement plan for Bakewell Town Hall. They not only improve the room cosmetically, therefore making it more appealing as an events venue, but provide a more comfortable experience for our regular community users who struggled with the old chairs.

The grant scheme was funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
